Work continues each Thursday afternoon at St Mary’s on the Seymour altar cloth. The cloth was gifted by Colonel John Seymour sometime around the year 1700 and it has remained at the church ever since. Col. Seymour was a highly decorated soldier who served under King William III and went on to become Governor of then colony, now state of, Maryland.
Conservation work is being undertaken in the church each Thursday afternoon by a group from the Arts Society Severn Valley Heritage Volunteers. Visitors are most welcome, with tea and cake available for those who drop by.
