St Mary’s Church Fete & Dog Show

September 3, 2022 @ 1:30 pm - 5:30 pm

St Mary’s traditional church fete takes place on 3 September – a special date for your diary.  This year’s event will feature a Morris group called Tatters & Tails and we also hope to see a return of Professor Hudd  with his Punch and Judy show.  All the usual stalls will be there, not forgetting the ever popular dog show.

The fete is well known in this part of the world and always attracts a good crowd.  We always look forward to good weather and we are usually rewarded.

The aim is to keep it as a traditional village fete.  We have a policy not to allow private traders so that all the money raised goes to maintaining our lovely church and supporting the community.  Amongst the stalls is an extensive bookstall which always has a wide range of good quality books to suit a wide variety of interests.  As the fete is held in early September it is a good time to stock up on a few good reads for the winter nights ahead.  Other great stalls include a Nearly Nu clothes store, some wonderful needlework and handicrafts, Jams and Chutneys and of course the renowned White Elephant stall where a host of bargains can be found.

If you are a dog lover there is a dog show run by our local friends at Highcroft Vets.  There is a wide range of classes to enter your dog and show them off.  The dogs love it too.
